Off to ISC 2015! The Top 10 Things I’m Looking Forward to at ISC15
I wrote a blog after SC14 titled “The Top 10 Things I Like about HPC and the SC Conference.” Continuing with that tradition, I decided to add a blog as I’m off to one of my two favorite shows of the year: the things I am looking forward to as I head to ISC15. As for the top 10 things I like best – you’ll have to wait until Friday!
- Germany, for one. Do I need to say more?
I am an American, and anytime I get to experience a new city AND a new country all at the same time, I am in heaven!
- Long airplane ride.
Yes, I LOVE long airplane rides. I get to eat, drink, sleep, read, watch movies, maybe even do a little bit of work.
- Beyond Germany.
I haven’t always done this, but I am doing it now! I’m taking advantage of that long airplane ride and spending time in Europe to see more cities. I have three more cities to visit after Frankfurt – can’t wait!
- People from 51 countries!
Where else can you go and have access to that kind of diversity?!
What will the key technologies to see be this year?! I’m looking forward to finding out!
There is quite a bit of chatter on what will be announced at ISC15. I’m looking forward to seeing new news!
I have lots of meetings on my plate, and you know what that means? I get to reacquaint with old friends and colleagues and meet new people. And that learning about new stuff – that comes into play too!

I will be attending all of these events. I am even on the panel discussion for Women in HPC. These events are consistently interesting, thought provoking, and fun!
How can I not add the parties to this list? T-Platforms is back – is the Vodka party back too???
Being in this industry as long as I have, I’ve made many friends. I’m looking forward to reconnecting!
